LOLITA LEMPICKA – L'EAU JOLIE
As far as perfume is concerned, Lolita Lempicka is perhaps best known for her self-titled perfume of 1997, presented in a lilac coloured apple-shaped flacon that holds the tooth-achingly sweet scent of liquorice and flowers. Today, it would appear Lempicka continues the tradition of presenting her perfumes in bewitching bottles that look like they've tumbled out of a fairy tale book... Lolita Lempicka L'eau Jolie is the latest in a line of flankers that are remotely related to the original.

L'eau Jolie is wide-eyed and youthful... a creation aimed at young women with a light heart and blossoming sense of self. This time, the transparent forbidden fruit holds a blushing pink elixir... one composed of fruity and gourmand accents. Top notes of Nashi pear and peach blossom give rise to a tender heart of blackcurrant and neroli and these cartwheel over a silver musk base. L'eau Jolie is tender and as delicate as damselfly wings... it feels sheer and airy.
This perfume is perhaps best enjoyed as a daytime fragrance... it is enchanting and demure and as light as a feather. Juvenile femininity in its purest form.
CHRISTIAN DIOR - HOMME COLOGNE (NEW)
Dior Homme Cologne is the latest of a growing number of flanking fragrances of the highly successful Dior Homme, launched in 2005. The Cologne version, (released in 2013) embraces all the traditions of classic eau de colognes, but teleports them forward into today. A satisfying citrus / aromatic blend, Dior Homme Cologne feels fresh and to-the-minute.
Acclaimed nose Francois Demanchy has formulated this scent which is simple and sophisticated. It opens with Calabrian bergamot which is pulpy and zesty and causes your saliva glands to tingle. A deeper citrus heart of grapefruit blossom gives the cologne a warmer, sunnier nucleus, and the sum of these components wash over a profoundly clean, musky base.
Dior Homme Cologne is perhaps best enjoyed worn day or night with a crisp white cotton shirt. Whilst it has been marketed to men, I don't see why this scent couldn't be enjoyed by women, as it has all the hallmarks of a genderless creation intended to be worn with abandon.
GUCCI BY GUCCI – EAU DE PARFUM
When Frida Giannini took over the reigns at Gucci, she retired the perfumes created by Tom Ford when he worked with the brand, so almost overnight, Gucci by Gucci for Women became the new signature feminine from the line. Presented in a brown glass flacon with gold-coloured hardware, the bottle not only referenced Gucci's accessory-making heritage, but the perfume it held became a hit with women the world over.
Gucci by Gucci for Women opens with a fruity flight – crisp pear and pulpy guava set the tone for a scent that is dewy and opulent. A heart of tiare flower and honey furnishes this eau de parfum with an ambery floral warmth – one which settles on skin like a shining bronze mantle. Trailing base notes of patchouli and musk evoke an earthier, more organic facet.
This perfume personifies the modern Gucci woman; a woman of sophistication... one who appreciates luxurious things.
Very VIP.
