Angel Schlesser is a Spanish fashion and fragrance designer known for his elegant and minimalist style. He debuted in Madrid in 1984 with a men's clothing collection, which was well received locally and also gained him international acclaim.
He received recognition for designing the costumes for the 1992 edition of the Olympic Games held in Barcelona. He also earned an Academy Award nomination in the Best Costume Design category for his work in the 2004 Spanish film ""Mar adentro.""
Angel Schlesser launched both a swimwear and a fragrance line in 1999. He released the classic men's fragrance Angel Schlesser Homme in 2001. The perfume was popular with customers and earned Schlesser several trophies, including the Fragrance Foundation 2001 awards for best packaging and public relations. Schlesser collaborated with French perfumer Thierry Vasseur, who also lent his expertise to the House of Guerlain in 2008.
The designer launched the Angel Schlesser Essential perfume, as well as a line of jewelry, in 2005. During the same year, he was named the best Spanish designer by Elle magazine. In 2011, he received further praise during Madrid Fashion Week when L'Oreal named his collection the most interesting of the show, possibly due to his idea of having the models wear his fragrances to match the designer clothes.
Angel Schlesser So Essential, one of Schlesser's most famous perfumes, was released in 2011. This summer edition re-release of the earlier Angel Schlesser Essential arose from a collaboration with the French perfumer Jean-Jacques.
