Maria Sharapova Fragrances

Maria Sharapova rose to fame as a tennis player at the turn of the millennium, when she turned professional at the age of 14. After a childhood spent playing tennis in Russia, Sharapova competed in the prestigious Wimbledon tournament in 2004 and became the first Russian women's champion.

Maria Sharapova released a fragrance bearing her name in 2005. Carlos Vinals of the Takasogo Company created the fragrance along with the Parlux Company. The fragrance is aimed at young, active women and features citrus notes combined with jasmine, magnolia and other white flowers. Creator Carlos Vinals has also developed fragrances for celebrities and fashion houses including Beyoncé, Shania Twain, Marc Jacobs and Victoria's Secret.

Maria Sharapova continued her work in the world of fragrances when she was named the face of Avon's Luck range in 2014. Avon felt that Sharapova's natural charisma and skill on the court made her the perfect ambassador for the range, which comprises fragrances for men and women. When Sharapova was named as the face of Luck, she said that she was happy to work with a company that helps empower women.

Alongside her work in the world of fragrances, Maria Sharapova has created a successful brand away from the tennis court through endorsement deals with companies including Nike, TAG Heuer and Head. She also remains a successful tennis player, having won the 2014 French Open and advancing to the final of the 2015 Australian Open.
