Agatha Ruiz De La Prada

Agatha Ruiz de la Prada is no stranger to the design and characteristics of the finer things in life. The daughter of an architect and a Spanish aristocrat, she has dedicated her life to the pursuit of creative perfection. She graduated from the Barcelona School of Arts and Fashion Techniques and entered the design world in 1981 by presenting a fashion line for women in Madrid. Since then, she has lent her creative sensibilities to various projects, including kitchenware, furniture, pet accessories, computer games and architecture.

The fashion designer's first foray into the world of perfume took place in 1992 when she lent her name to a soft, floral scent created by Gal. The same year, she launched her own brand, and in 2000, she solidified her place in the fragrance industry by launching her first scents under the Agatha Ruiz de la Prada mark, including Agua, Corazon and Flor.

In 2004, a year after she presented her first fashion collection for men, de la Prada launched Lio, her first men's fragrance. Altogether, she has launched over a dozen fragrances for men and women.

The Spanish fashion and fragrance giant Puig acquired Gal in 2012, and with it, the Agatha Ruiz de la Prada brand name. As a result of the acquisition, Agatha Ruiz de la Prada joined other prestigious names such as Jean Paul Gaultier, Mango, Zara, Nina Ricci and Prada (no relation), under the Puig umbrella.
