I am obsessed with this fragrance and switched to it after years of wearing Patou 1000. It is completely unique and, while some say the rose is "granny" I find it heady and sexy. Other fragrances have been longer lasting but none more beautiful for me. It smells great on me and I won't change now. Serge Lutens is a master parfumer. His fragrances are complex and wonderful.

Admittedly, I am not typically attracted to roses in perfumes. While roses smells nice in a garden, I tend to associate that smell in perfumes with pot pourrie/granny smell(in the best kind of way but not my cup of tea)...Enter SL La Fille de Berlin, not a soliflore rose here, instead a beautiful rich composition that truly plays with your senses. It is hard to describe, but I do get a Coco Chanel (original) vibe to it, not scent wise, but rather it feels kind of balmy and enveloping which I love! Longevity is good, especially on fabric, and not a sillage monster (like Poison Dior)as long as you go easy on the trigger! Definitely, a great addition to my perfume wardrobe:) Sorry can't compare with other SL rose centric composition, I didn't get a chance to smell them yet.

The perfume smells very strong of powdery roses, a bit overwhelming in my opinion. It is more of a mature scent, but is formulated well. It wasn't a good fit for me though
