product description
The Joy Eau de Parfum Spray is a timeless classic launched by Jean Patao in 1930. The fragrance opens with a fresh and scintillating concoction of Peach and leafy greens, at the top. The striking scents of Rose, Jasmine, Ylang Ylang, and Tuberose lend a sweet, seductive and feminine touch to the middle notes and uplift senses. With the warm and sensual notes of Sandalwood, Musk, and Civet at the base, this perfume for women is ideal for romantic outings.

Joy was a wonderful surprise. I blind purchased the small bottle to try it out. Hostorically, this fragrance receives a lot of positive reviews on several fragrance websites and social media. It is a unique scent that I am not able to give a " it is similar to" type of suggestion. And, I own a lot of perfumes because I like them for enjoyment. I am not an expert. For me Joy is very bright. The opening smells a bit citrusy and fruity like grapefruit, maybe tangerine and pear on the open, then it dries down a bit powdery. Again, I am not an expert, but the opening is eye opening. On the down side for me, I am not a powder fan. However, it seems mild enough to be OK. I may get a slightly bigger spray bottle. I have feeling spritzing the fragrance may open the notes a bit more than daubing it on the skin. This is a positive purchase for me.

My husband at the time bought me a huge bottle it was black with a red stopper. It cost a small fortune, my 2 year old niece went in my bedroom and tipped it all out on the bed. This gorgeous scent hung around the house for years as it must have soaked into the wood flooring lol

Joy by Jean Patou is my favorite perfume and has been since I was a young woman. Its fragrance is like no other. It has been fifty one years since my love of this perfume began and though it’s said the formula has changed slightly in the sixties ,I can recognize it anywhere. A true gift and pleasure!
