I am 55 years old and a relative newbie to the world of fine cologne but I have been trying a fair amount of samples and stuff from basic designers at my local JCP store to smaller, boutique houses like DS & Durga, Xerjoff, Penhaligon, Pineward, Apoteker Tepe and a few others. I tend to lean towards favoring woody, earthy, coniferous kind of scents and I am looking for a signature scent. I have enjoyed Marlys PERCIVAL and DS & Durga's Big Sur Eucalyptus as the more fresh daily options but have enjoyed layering with the William Penhaligon. So far this is my favorite. This stuff has a rich, sexy + masculine enough touch, if you will.
