Floris No. 89
product description
The aromatic fragrance of No 89 is an energizing and warm fragrance for men from the design house of Floris. At the start of this 1951 scent are charming notes from bergamot, orange, neroli, petitgrain and lavender. The heart is charismatic with hints from ylang-ylang, geranium and rose, while the base features notes from sandalwood, vetiver, musk, virginia cedar and oakmoss.

Never having been a woman afraid of wearing a scent meant for men, this one hits the mark for daily wear for so many reasons. No. 89 is a fantastic blend of florals at the top - without the cloyingly overly sweet florals smell of women's fragrances - leading with a subdued lavender nose. The dry down is powdery, slightly musky and woodsy. This is not a long-lasting scent, but it is certainly one for those who like a clean smelling, lightly woodsy-floral scent. I've worn this for years and it continues to get compliments.

Classic male winter fragrance. Great for daily use
Great
Love it, smells great
Mature Scent
Smells great, it has an older aroma, great cologne for the more mature man. Highly recommend for the 30+ crowd.

Ignore the negative reviews if you know what you're looking at - this is as old-school as they come, with a beautiful masculine rose and powdery woods for a dapper, dandy vibe straight from another world (literally released in 1950). It's in the vein of something like Habit Rouge EDT, which it predates, but No. 89 is a bit softer, less vanillic than the Guerlain. (I prefer Habit Rouge but this would be easier to wear on a hot day.) Obviously not a modern type of scent but it holds up well and it's not hard to wear.
