When ever your going to go buy perfume go in the morning your senses are more alert.
The Gift of Bath Powder (on the cheap) We all love scented bath powders but who has money for that in this economy! Make it for yourself and make it for a friend. You will need a zip lock bag with a good seal, some baking powder and corn starch and a few cotton balls and the perfume in question. Take about a half cup of baking soda and a half cup of corn starch and mix them together well and put the mixture in the baggie. Saturate the cotton balls with the scent of your choice and drop them in the baggie and shake for a minute or so. Leave it alone for about three days. In the meantime, go to the drug store and buy a powder puff. Take the puff and go to the dollar store and find a cute container that is the right size for the powder puff to fit in. Buy it, bring it home and put the stuff in the baggie into the container along with the powder puff.
use baby wash to remove eye makeup. it makes taking eye make up off as easy as can be... just wash your eye area like you would the rest of your face of course keeping your eyes closed the whole time... if there is any eye makeup left use baby oil to remove it by using a q-tip and a piece of toilet paper. NOTHING WORKS BETTER!
Keep your perfume in it's original box to seal out air and light, the enemies of fragrance. Doesn't look as pretty as a bottle of perfume on the counter, but it does keep the fragrance true and makes it last longer.
layer fragrance products for lasting scent - e.g. lotion and then spray perfume. Keep fragrance in refrigerator in summer months. Try new scent on your wrist - smell occasionally for the next 4 - 6 hours. The scent will either become yours and smell delightful or it will not mesh with you skin chemistry and smell badly or not at all. Then decide which one you want to buy.
Use cucumbers at night to relax your eyes and get rid of underlying eye bags
With any Fragrance; try applying these to your "Hot Spots" The first (believe it or not) is your shoulders, then your chest. The wrist area and behind the ears are pulse areas. And do not hold a fragrance as long. Also use an oil, like olive oil, or vegetable oil on the area you'll be spraying or applying your fragrances. These helps the staying power by an hour or two. It works especially well with Natural Scents or a Solid Perfume. Try not to use mineral oil or Vaseline. These are drying and are not good for your skin. With the added Natural Oil- You'll really notice any Fragrance lasting longer!
After showering, apply lotion before perfume. It will last all day, without needing to apply more.
If you want Cologne or Perfume to last longer on your arms and legs, etc,use a light, non-perfumed body oil or lotion. When the oil or lotion is absorbed, spray or apply all areas with your fragrance. It will last ever so much longer. This advice will help those with sensitive skin, as sometimes Cologne or Perfume is a very strong liquid and can irritate ones skin, upon application.
Use vaseline on lips for the winter - if you run out of lip balm!
