I have been using 4711 for over years. After "graduating" from the Old Spice of my youth and experimenting with various after shave lotions and colognes I tried the original "Cologne" and have used it exclusively since. It's appropriate any time, for any occasion. Not trendy or linked to a designer or fad. Just a great refreshing scent.

4711 is an elegant, old-european fragrance. It would appeal to the man who knows the Guerlain fragrances such as Imperiale, Vetiver, or Habit Rouge, a man of mature sensibilities and tastes. Perfect to wear for a lunch at the club or at a quaint french auberge.
