M7 Oud Absolu from the design house of Yves Saint Laurent is a warm, spicy, and balmy treat for the sophisticated man's senses. This decadently woody and Oriental fragrance was launched in 2011 for the man who is not afraid of letting his confident masculinity shine through. With a strong top note of succulent mandarin and a heavy heart note of patchouli, this casual, day-to-night fragrance has dark base finishing notes of agarwood, myrhh, and French labdanum.

Although it may not make as strong a Oud statement like Montale Black Oud or By Kilian Pure Oud or a few others but I like the balance of this M7 Oud Absolu and enjoy it when I want a more laid back Oud type aroma. Much has been debated about the original M7 which I love but I think YSL did a good job on this fragrance and the price is right.

I may be spoiled on the more premium Oud fragrances but man this is weak. I can barely smell it. If you apply a huge amount its there and then it's more tobacco/leather/vanilla which isn't bad.

I would give it a 5/5 but it is not quite as good as the original M7 release, however that said it still contains the main elements of the original just toned down
