It was a nice scent, not what I had imagined it to be by the name, but the base note comes through in the end. This isn't really for the younger crowd, its more reminiscent of older colognes (this one is pretty old also). I would really say spray it on and try for a day and see if you like it. Then decide to buy it.

ROYAL SCOTTISH LAVENDER IS A WONDERFUL SCENT! STAYS CLOSE TO THE SKIN, WARM AND INVITING. TRUE ESSENCE OF LAVENDER. YOU HAVE TO A CONDIFENT, MATURE MAN TO WEAR THIS UNBELIEVABLE COLOGNE. DON'T TRUST THE SMELL FROM THE CAP, IT DOESN'T DO ANY JUSTICE TO WHAT IT SMELLS LIKE ON THE SKIN!! TRUE ESSENCE OF LAVENDER. ORIGINAL SANTAL BY CREED WILL BE MY NEXT PURCHASE. IT IS SPICY AND VERY ORIGINAL. I CAN'T STAND THE EVERYDAY COMMON COLOGNES.

It is far more clove scented on first blush than I was expecting. After an hour it is the lavender that I enjoy. I am a woman and it is almost too masculine for me but it would be too feminine for my husband.

Creed Royal Scottish Lavender reminds me of my grandfather, a very military gentleman. Grandfather was extremely gracious, but tough as only an old sea dog can be. Scottish Lavender would have been perfect for him. The manly aroma of exotic woods combined with the sea-breeze clean scent of lavender are precisely what the gentleman on the move needs as a signature fragrance.
