Encre Noir by Lalique is a nice "dirty" deep vetiver scent that has a wee bit of evil, but in the best way. A real compliment-getter, as it's not the usual foofy-happy, bright and watery-citrus spritz of bleargh that Joe Everyguy seems to be swimming in these days. For the bold & ballsy only - if you're the type of fella who wants to blend in, just walk way. Otherwise, enjoy the husky, woody excellence of this scent.
I would describe Encre Noir as a very dry well done dry vetiver scent that is appropriate for most occasions. Vetiver is made from the routes of certain grasses and the cypress adds a woody note. This is a very masculine scent but women may like this one as well. It could possibly be layered under other perfumes to balance sweetness. I personally wouldn't wear this but I like it very much on my husband. A few perfume blogs that I read gave this scent a high rating because it is so well done. One or two sprays is all that is needed. A little goes a long way.
