Founded in late 2021 by long-term childhood friends Phway Su Aye and Susan Wai Hnin, GABAR, meaning “world” in the Myanmar language, was created with the very intention of bringing forth a new perspective to the fragrance space -- one that would encompass next generational shifts in creative and consumption, as well as push forward a new system of values, driven by Southeast Asian philosophies, to encourage a more conscious, creative and connected way of living. Partnering with emerging perfumers from across the world, each GABAR collection is made with these intentions in mind, channeling a much wider belief that so much of the change we want to see in the world comes from ourselves first. With a first collection tapping into the brand’s Myanmar roots and exemplifying three mindful states, to a next collection tapping into the brand’s second home of New York City and harnessing expansive & ritualistic moments in a big city, to a third, most recent collection exploring Southeast Asian mythology & the sides of self, each GABAR scent inspires modes of self-awareness and self-reflection for a more conscious state of being.
