I gave this Maja soap trio to a friend for her birthday. She loved it so much you'd thought I'd given her a diamond ring. It's amazing what a round bar of soap from Spain/Mexico can do. This stuff is special. The shower gel too! Thank you Fragrancenet for stocking this great line.

THIS Soap, whether it be the Round Bar or the Pump Liquid, IS THE MOST PERSONAL, & Sentimental gift, I can give to anyone! They have to be PRETTY SPECIAL for me to introduce them to the WONDERFUL Maja SCENT! My father, from eastern Ohio, was in the U.S. Air Force stationed in Okinawa in the early 1950's, & was on an Easter 4-day pass to the Philippines, when he saw my mother, a Filipina, across a tourist boat, & he fell "head over heels IN LOVE." Her mother had died when she was 8, from TB, & lived in a separate house on the property. Before she died, it was VERY special for MY MOTHER, to be able to visit HER! The maids took care of my mother, always bathing her in the THEN Spanish soap, 'Maja'. She would smell so clean & fresh! Shortly after her mother died, the Japanese came & occupied the Philippine Islands. She was a pre-teen, who unfortunately had combat trauma from the Occupation growing up . The ONE CONSTANT in her life, she COULD COUNT ON, was the fragrance of her daily soap, 'inhaling that delicious smell of Maja!" I NEVER heard this story, until I was a teenager, living in Central Texas; my father had retired from the Air Force & my mother had just graduated in Elementary Ed from Baylor University. Her favorite department store started carrying it! She bought BOXES & my sister & I were introduced to the wonderful 'Maja' that meant SO MUCH to our mother, as she grew up during tough times. She passed away last year at the age of 85, a Model Teacher & Mentor in her city's several school district's. Our father passed away a few months earlier at the age of 92. They married on Valentine's Day in 1954 in Manila, & they were happily married for over 60 years. I have used Maja, which I think might be made in Mexico now, it doesn't matter, it is still a GREAT PRODUCT! I am a GIFT GIVER! Maja products have been special to me ever since my mother introduced it to me during my high school days. I am now 61. Between Maja soap bars & liquid soap & the Devotional JESUS CALLING, I have lost count as to how many of each I give jointly as a gift! I brought my Primary Care doctor, FROM Puerto Rico, to tears at our Army hospital, when I gave her a collection. When she opened the box, tears flooded her eyes! "It smells like my grandma!" She gave me the BIGGEST hug! It is NOT an 'old lady' scent. But, it was what her grandmother grew up with, just as my mother: that Spanish background! If you want to give a UNIQUE gift, or simply SPOIL YOURSELF...at these prices, THIS IS THE WAY TO DO IT! Thank You Frangrancenet, for keeping my mother 'alive' to me!
