New York Yankees (Designer)
In 2012, Major League Baseball's New York Yankees paired with the Cloudbreak Group and Firmenich in order to bring feminine and masculine scents to its fans. The Cloudbreak Group focuses on targeting markets and distributing luxury items globally. Firmenich is a fragrance and flavor house that advertises its commitment to its "Colleagues, Clients, Communities and Creativity."
Firmenich was founded by Philippe Chuit, a Swiss chemist, and businessman Martin Naef in 1895. They rented workspace from Charles Firmenich, whose daughter would eventually marry Philippe Chuit. The company was first called Chuit, Naef & Co, but after its founders retired, the Firmenich family took over in 1934 and renamed it Firmenich & Co.
Firmenich is known for its passion for smell and taste - a passion that, in conjunction with excellent understanding of consumer trends, is contributed to the heart of its success. Firmenich is the largest privately owned company in the fragrance industry. Additionally, its roots in chemistry make it one of the more influential companies in the business. Chuit was responsible for creating molecules such as Dianthine® and Iralia®, which are still present on the market today, and about 10 percent of the current company's profits are invested in research and development in order to keep its place on the fragrance market solid.
Firmenich collaborates with top brands such as Giorgio Armani, Hugo Boss, Ralph Lauren, and Dolce & Gabbana. Thus it is no surprise that the New York Yankees would seek its expertise for their signature scents.
