i'm a huge fan of annick goutal, my first fragrance being eau d'hadrien, which is my day time fragrance, i first fell in love with mandragore, but unfortunately the scent didn't last on me, when annick brought out the mandragore pourpre i found it was an improvement on something i already loved, with small subtle changes which made the scent slightly stronger and lasts so much longer on me. I buy the mens bottle for two reasons, one the scent is unisex and identical only packaging is different, but the price is much cheaper for the mens as the bottle is less elaborate ( not a problem for me as the mens bottle is still beautiful on my dresser) secondly my teenage son also fell in love with this scent and we share even though theirs a 20 year age gap... not only have i had compliments from this wonderful very unique scent but my son's friends all love it and keep asking for some on when ever they visit... this is an unfortunate draw back as it means my bottle goes down so much quicker!... its not the scent for everyone as clearly indicated by the other review on here. I can only say.. go into a store and try it... as you know every scent smells different on each individual... if you love it as i do then don't pay the store price... come back here.... i've made repeat purchases from here and have always been satisfied with the service... if you like a gentle spicy oriental scent with fresh top notes this might be the one you missed... i just LOVE it..... next to eau d'hadrien its my favourite.

I don't even know how to describe this fragrance; rotting lilies and bug spray? It's appalling. I love this line of fragrances - Songes and Eau D'Hadrian, and so many others are my go-to scents - so I took a flyer on this. Blech! Really the worst thing I've ever sprayed on. I recommend it for no occasion and no time of day. I literally couldn't give it away - and I tried!
