product description

The warm, spicy and sweet scent of Eternal Oud is a lively fragrance for women and men from the house of Lattafa Perfumes. Launched in 2022, this perfume begins with notes from grapefruit and plum at the start. The center is filled with notes from orchid and heliotrope, while the base is compelling with hints from vanilla, tonka bean, agarwood, labdanum and benzoin.

Rich, smooth, and luxurious! Opens with sweet amber and dried fruits, then settles into creamy vanilla and soft oud. Well-balanced—not too heavy—with great projection and longevity. Warm, elegant, and perfect for evenings.”

Let me start with the packaging. Its incredible! As soon as I sprayed it to my skin, wow! Smells like cedar wood, with an under tone of vanilla, oud. I love it! Its unique to any other perfume I own. If you ever worked in tree service, and put some cedar in the woods chipper. Thats how it smells and a little hint of like sasofrass. Its very woody and last easily 8-12 hours.

Wear testing this fragrance alongside of MFK’s Grand Soir after further maturation and Eternal Oud is quite close. I would guess 80% perhaps? The oud has smoothed out and now the orchid and plum have made their debut but they both are still subtle. As well I’m getting a clear Tonka bean/vanilla that warms and sweetens it but nothing cloying at all. With the addition of the last two notes; the screechiness I picked up on is now gone. Though the notes and accords make it unisex scent, I still think it leans more masculine than feminine. Easy enough to make this more feminine by layering a more floral forward scent in or additional vanilla to sweeten it up. I’ve added a fruit centric scent that made it less formal and lightened it up for Summer/Spring wearability. The performance is really good with 3-5 foot of projection the first 2-3 hours, a decent scent bubble for another 2-3 hours, to an intimate skin scent through the end of wear, so approximately 1-3 hours more. However on clothing it stays until laundering. It’s definitely a Winter/Late fall perfume. I consider this scent to still be complex so don’t recommend it as a good blind buy. While not very, very complex it does take a bit more experience to wear and appreciate. As well as mentioned my previous rating you must really like oud. It’s not a barn yardy animalic type of oud, it’s smooth but rating it on my 1-10 “oud meter” (10 being very strong and 1 very light) I’d rate this one at a 4. Thus an experienced wearer or you particularly like oud. I like Middle Eastern perfumes and while it’s not the traditional saffron, oud, rose associated with Arabic scents, it does lean that way. I’m upping my star rating mostly because the blend has become smooth now with maturation. This is probably what I look for the most in any fragrance. I don’t like notes overtaking each other and standing out sacrificing the other notes and accords to barely there. That’s what I’m referring to when I say “screechie”. A cheap smelling perfume is easily identified by this characteristic and fortunately not the case with this one. While I am surprised at how much nicer this scent has become with maturation, I still don’t see myself re-purchasing it. I just like so many others better. That said it’s not a bad perfume, performance is very good just not for me.

I'm a huge Oud fan when it comes to cologne/perfume and this one has made it to my top 5 favorite ouds I've even been asked what I've been wearing at my work by a few people so I highly recommend this on. It has a sweet and alluring outdoors fragrance to it so if you like those two get this my mother has even asked to use it a few times that's how good it is if I could rate this higher then 5 stars I would.

Strong perfume. I don’t think it’s seasonal. It’s good year round. Gotta like oud for sure but it’s a very well blended oud. Not dirty or indolic and even suggestive of an outdoorsy freshness. I don’t get grapefruit or plum. The floral aspect is dark but reminds me of jasmine not orchid. So I’m getting very different notes than what is listed and also not getting tonke or vanilla at all. Others say it must mature???? It’s pretty strong right out the gate but maybe the notes listed will eventually come through. This isn’t blind buy safe. It has quite a bit of complexity so maybe someone with a lot of experience with scents could blind buy it. Definitely middle eastern scent. As of now I’ll wear it but I wouldn’t re-purchase it. Too many better perfumes with this DNA to choose from that are also in the very affordable price range. For now hoping it will at least train my nose for kids and more complex scents. I typically go for very sweet, vanilla, florals, fruity, musks and gourmands so my taste hasn’t yet run in this direction. Please take that info into consideration in my rating. Many people like it and a couple spritz’s is all you need for 8+ hours. Stays on clothing until washed.
