Amouage is a house that really requires "experience before purchase". I have two Amouage scents and that allows me to speak from experience...YOU HAVE TO SAMPLE FIRST. Material is a spicy, complex, layered scent that requires development to be appreciated. The amount of oud is this scent should overwhelm it but it's actually smooth. What I like most is the patchouli that starts as a main character but remains present throughout, but later takes a backseat to the warm, sweet base notes. Great scent.

Valigirl 

One of my favorite winter scents! Warm spicy, syrupy vanilla, incense, with a touch of smoky oud and animalic notes. Dry down goes more incense/animalic on me. Does not last as long (on skin) as other Amouage scents, but stays all day on clothes. Get a TON of compliments, or am asked what are you wearing, especially from men. Delicious!

I kept hearing how this was a blind-buy-worthy....it was not. This is a spicy scent and simply doesn't work on my skin. It was just a mid fragrance

I adore this fragrance. Smooth amber with deep resins and spice. Perfect for the coldest days of winter.

I was so bummed with this one! I got a sample as I'm not a blind buyer. Thank goodness! For the first five minutes it was a pleasant spicy vanilla but it soon dried down to be very stinky on my skin. Like kind of b.o.-ish. My ph and this scent did not jive, unfortunately.
