Declaration
product description
Inspire feelings of passion and romance in your partner with the fresh and woody aroma of Declaration by Cartier. Launched in 1998, this subtlety masculine fragrance creates a hint of freshness with top notes of artemisia and corlander, while middles notes of birch and mandarin orange provide a light but noticeable sweetness. Designed for casual events, this men's eau de toilette features notes of oakmoss to create a slightly woody scent that delivers masculine appeal and long-lasting wear.

Classic, cardamom forward...as spicy as it gets so it's very bracing and uplifting

I find this fragrance to be absolutely brilliant and sophisticated. Not particularly unique as there are several others in the same realm (Bleu Noir, Silver Mtn Water, Mefisto) but definitely a classic. Maybe more mature than most young men would find appealing but those over 30 should appreciate. If you like Terre D'Hermes (this doesn't smell anything like it), but I feel like you'd still be likely to enjoy Declaration as they share the same perfumer. .

I am a woman who has worn Declaration EDT for twenty years. I happened upon it in a Cartier boutique. I'm not into synthetic fragrances and had searched for a few years to replace a favorite go-to fragrance by Aveda, Equipoise. I receive compliments on this constantly and find that it is definitely an androgynous fragrance. There was mention of cumin by another reviewer, I must say it is a bottom note and not a top note in the blend. Vetiver would be the top note detected. SO light, fresh, and never overwhelming in public. I will continue to buy this forever. When I find a fragrance that is not offensive, or loud I am a customer for life. I buy the tester bottles of 3.3 EDT, what a bargain.

I've been wearing this for 22 years since it came out in 1998. Truly a classic example of what great perfumery can create.
