How to: Wear Fragrance for a Job Interview

You got the call, they want to see you for an interview...and there is nothing more important than making the right first impression, and that important step doesn't exclude choosing the right fragrance to wear!

First, ask yourself, what scent makes you feel confident? Just like the outfit you wear, you want to smell as good as you look, that's why it's important for you to choose a fragrance you know will help you to leave a lasting impression.

First rule of thumb, apply it lightly, you don't want to choke out the interviewer but at the same time, you want to leave a subtle scent that will linger. Worst case scenario, they are allergic to perfume, which is why we suggest the following tips!

1. Wear a spritz in places the interviewer won't come into contact with. So think, behind your ears, on the insides of your wrist, or the back of your neck.

2. GO easy on spraying. One spritz is really enough! Even if you spray only once, and you feel the scent is too strong, dab a tissue or wash cloth on the area you sprayed to rid some of the excess scent.

3. Layering is key...but not on the day you have an interview! Skip the strong shampoos, conditioners, hair sprays, body oils, lotions...you get the idea. Today is not the day to layer up or concoct a scent mixing and matching different sprays, lotions, and more.

Just remember, go easy on the spray, pick a scent that makes you feel good about yourself, one that makes you feel confident, and you're there to get the job! GO get 'em!
