Some fragrances are straightforward aromas of flowers and spices mixed with everyday flavor favorites like vanilla. They have names that suit their expression such as Beautiful, Romance, or Sensuous.
Other scents, on the other hand, are a bit more unpredictable.
They have may have similar notes but also include some additional innovation – along with a name that makes you curious to know more about them.
Here’s a few that we find intriguing for sure.
Demeter Holy Water Cologne Spray
We’ve all seen plenty of movies about demons and exorcisms – they are all the rage when it comes to hair-raising horror. With all those head-turning, zombie-looking victims appearing worse for wear, there is no way their scent is sensational; but what about the holy water that’s there to heal them? Really, what about holy water in general? Leave it to Demeter, a master of strange and alluring scents, to bring what they describe as the aromas of “an old European church, in a small town off the beaten track” that highlights “the porcelain font, ozone scented water, and oak scented pew.” Amen to innovation!
Andy Warhol perfume
Last but not least… If there was going to be a poster boy for eccentricity, Andy Warhol would definitely have our endorsement. This renowned artist is celebrated for his creative endeavors that often “popped up” to many as just plain odd. Andy Warhol perfume by Andy Warhol, however, is a not-so-strange brew of floral, fruity fragrance that combines top notes of black currant, peach, bergamot, green notes, sea notes, and litchi; with middle notes of rose, osmanthus, jasmine, and violet; and base notes of must, sandalwood, and heliotrope. His signature art is showcased on the bottle, but in this case, sans the soup can, banana or eight Elvises.
Vertigo by Vertigo Parfums
The dizzying sensation of Vertigo inspired a classic cult film by Alfred Hitchcock, as well as the aromas that glide about this whirlwind scent. It was designed to “complement your various moods and subtly enhance any occasion,” day or night, and features lemon, orange, and sparkling aldehydes. The result is a bright bouquet of top notes that blend seamlessly with the heart notes of verdant galbanum and exotic jasmine. It’s a leap into luxury, we’d say!
Fairy Juice by Nafnaf
Now if you watch the show “True Blood,” you know there are some seriously hot-looking fairies in that world. They definitely move past the demure Disney ones we know from our youth (sorry Tink!) and bring on the sexy – big time. So who wouldn’t want to bottle pheromones that could attract practically anyone? This magical potion brings fantasy to reality through fruity aromas of black currant, white peach, and mandarin with musky base notes of tonka bean and cedar. Your wish is granted…with Fairy Juice by Nafnaf.
