Hermes parfumes are unsurpassed in quality. Only Hermes and Chanel use actual flower essence oils in their perfumes. Other designer scents have taken the easy and cheap way, using chemical concoctions vs. the old fashioned, more expensive way to form a their product. The end result is a sophisticated, sleek and unforgettable combination of fresh floral scent.

Un Jardin Sur Le Nil is may choice fragrance and has been for several years. I don't wear anything else and it concerned me to hear retailers say it's been discontinued. I don't understand why more stores don't carry this well complimented perfume. Whenever I'm embraced I'm told how good I smell. My husband loves it on me and it's good to know your love one remembers your scent in a romantic way. One day while out shopping, a stranger approached me and said, "What are you wearing?" I thought she meant my attire. Then she said, "You smell so good!" When I told her the name, Un Jardin Sur Le Nil she had never heard of it. How can something so good be kept out of most stores and be such a well kept secret?

I came upon this fragrance by chance several years ago when I was whiling away some time in a duty free shop in Osaka, Japan. It has become my signature scent. I've lost interest in all of my other perfumes and colognes. It is both light and complex. I can wear it just about anywhere since it isn't so strong as to bother others, even in the office. It seems to wear off a bit quickly, but then others will comment on how much they like my perfume when I think that it has already faded. In 5 years of wearing Un Jardin Sur le Nil, I've yet to meet anyone else who is familiar with the fragrance, and I enjoy having my own special scent that both men and women notice and compliment me on.

This scent makes me think of the jungle, which makes it great in the winter when you're longing for a whiff of summer. It's definitely on the unisex side, so not for someone who likes light, fruity or citrusy fragrances. I've worn it for day or night, and it lasts the longest of any perfume I've tried.

I love Un Jardin Sur Le Nil. I am so glad a sample was sent to me when I purchased another fragrance. That was 2006 and I have been wearing it ever since. I also love Un Jardin En Mediterranee (has a little spice to it).
