Originally from Nibe, Denmark, Ole Henriksen ventured to Indonesia for a coming-of-age vacation. During his trip, his skin became inflamed with cystic acne. He sought treatment in Jakarta, where an aesthetician named Lagita helped him reverse the skin condition with local botanicals. This experience unleashed a deep passion for skincare within him. After leaving Indonesia, he traveled to London to study cosmetics chemistry and skin care.
Upon completing his studies, Henriksen made Los Angeles, Calif., his new home. He developed his own skincare line and opened his eponymous spa business in the prestigious Sunset Plaza section of Sunset Boulevard. For more than three decades, Henriksen has enjoyed an exclusive client list that includes Matthew McConaughey, Oprah Winfrey, Renee Zellweger, Naomi Campbell and Lisa Marie Presley.
Henriksen and his spa have also been featured on ""Entertainment Tonight,"" ""Access Hollywood"" and NBC's ""Today"" program. He is the author of the best-selling book, "Ole Henriksen's Seven Day Skin Care Program."
Henriksen's skincare line uses specialized natural extract blends to alleviate common skin conditions such as dry, oily or combination skin, as well as hyperpigmentation and sensitive skin. He also offers anti-aging and pore-minimization products. His expansive, in-spa services include oxygen-infused facials, bodily massage, chemical peels, microdermabrasion and eight-step complexion treatments.
Henriksen credits his success to his ""down-to-Earth"" business motto that propels him to always have time to meet with his various customers.
