Marcella Fazi was born in 1911 and in 1937 she married nobleman Paolo Borghese, Duke of Bomarzo and Prince of Sant’ Angelo of San Paolo, thus giving her the title of Princess. Both fashion and beauty conscious, the princess had cosmetics and makeup made specifically for her from natural ingredients found around her villa in Rome. In 1956, Borghese met the founder of Revlon, Charles Revson, and a cosmetics line was born under the name of Princess Marcella Borghese.
The line, which includes spa treatments, makeup and skin care products was originally started with her own cosmetic recipes. In fact, Princess Marcella Borghese was one of the first people to create a skincare line based on the natural therapies of a spa.
