Scannon Fragrances

Scannon, Ltd. was once a division of Mennen, Inc. and is now a subsidiary of Proctor and Gamble. Scannon manufactures the Kanøn men's cologne brand and has marketed fragrances for Gucci and Lanvin perfumes under licensing agreements for decades.

Lanvin fragrances include My Sin, Lanvin for Men and Arpege, an internationally famous perfume created in 1927 by Andre Fraysse for Lanvin. Arpege was named by the perfumer's daughter because its notes reminded her of the musical term "arpeggio." The perfume was well-known in the 1970s due to a series of advertisements that used the memorable phrase, "Promise her anything, but give her Arpege.'' The original Arpege was reconstituted in 1993 and re-launched in 2009 under the name Arpege 120 to celebrate the 120th anniversary of the Lanvin design house.

Gucci's first fragrance was Gucci No. 1 for women, an eau de parfum by Guy Robert that was introduced in 1974 and features a bottle top formed from the iconic double-G Gucci logo. Other well-known fragrances produced for the house of Gucci include Gucci No. 3, released in 1985, and L'Arte di Gucci, introduced in 1991. Gucci fragrances were created in collaboration with numerous designers, including Firmenich, Ilias Ermenidis, Givaudan, Jacques Huclier and Lorenzo Villoresi.

Scannon's earliest fragrance for the Kanøn line was Kanøn for men, released in 1966. It was followed by Kanøn Sport in 1994 and Kanøn Norwegian Wood in 2010.
