Stella Cadente (Designer)
Stella Cadente was founded in 1995 by Ukrainian-born creator Stanisslassia Klein as a French fashion label. After studying at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and Studio Bercot in Paris, Klein launched her own fashion line of which she has since declared, "My house is born from my passion and my fury."
By the late 1990s, Klein was working with L'Oréal to anticipate and predict trends. This is just one of the many creative collaborations Klein has taken on during her career. "Stella Cadente is a universe, a lifestyle. The brand therefore has the legitimacy to speak in other professions," says Klein.
Stella Cadente, which means "shooting star" in Italian, released its first fragrance in 2005. The sweet, floral fragrance for women was named Miss Me. Two more perfumes, Acqua Stella Cadente and Miss Me Discrete, were released in 2007. Until 2008, Stella Cadente's fragrances were produced by Clarins. The license was then turned over to Parfums and Beaute.
In 2007, Klein met fashion photographer and art director Florian Claudel, with whom she teamed up to form a photography team called Stella & ClaudeI. Florian also created the Stella Cadente Studio.
Stella Cadente has successfully co-branded many times over the years, collaborating in creative efforts to design items such as handbags, lingerie and accessories. According to the Stella Cadente website, Klein "has been able to design a powerful, original and aesthetic world, full of poetry and mystery."
