The Canadian fragrance entrepreneur Michel Germain has based his perfume brand on one simple but powerful premise: fragrance is an aphrodisiac. When Germain, a former engineer, wanted to produce a perfume inspired by his wife Norma, he worked with the master perfumer Sophia Grosjman to create the brand’s first fragrance. The result, the spicy-sweet floral Séxual, was introduced to the public in 1994, and it has been followed by an entire collection of love-potion fragrances for women and men. Germain’s goal, to bottle flirtation and physical attraction, seems to have been successful.
The current Séxual line includes further women’s scents like Séxual Fleur and Séxual Femme, plus pairings of feminine and masculine fragrances including Séxual Noir (men’s and women’s versions) and Séxual Sugar/Séxual Sugar Daddy, as well as matching body products. As Germain says, “There’s no such thing as too much Séxual.” Michel Germain also offers a few fragrances beyond its Séxual collection.Tattoo is designed for free-spirited men and women, and Deauville (also available in men’s and women’s versions) evokes the Normandy coast of France.
