Marilyn Miglin has a long list of accomplishments under her belt. She is a well-known beauty expert, an accomplished author and a successful speaker, as well as being one of the top 500 female business owners in the United States.
Marilyn Miglin released her first fragrance, Pheromone, in 1978, and its timeless scent remains a classic for women the world over. As of 2014, Pheromone is among the top 10 fragrances sold monthly in department stores throughout the United States, and over time, Miglin has added Pheromone for Men, Pheromone Breeze, Pheromone Gold, Pheromone Musk and Pheromone Jasmine to the iconic scent line.
In addition to selling her beauty products and fragrances on the Home Shopping Network, Marilyn Miglin also remains loyal to the community. She serves on the State of Illinois Board of Economic Development, the Board of Directors of the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts, the Chicago Convention and Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley's tourism committee, and she is one of the founding members of the Craniofacial Center at the University of Illinois, where she works with burn survivors and patients with facial disfigurement.
While serving as president of the Oak Street Council, Miglin helped to raise over $1 million to benefit Chicago's Oak Street community. To honor her contributions, Oak Street's shopping district was renamed as Marilyn Miglin Way.
In recognition of her community achievements, Miglin has received the Raoul Wallenberg International Humanitarian Award, and the City of Chicago named April 15 as Marilyn Miglin Day.
