Jessica Simpson is one of the first —- and most enduring —- stars of reality television. She actually began her career as a pop singer, releasing her first album, Sweet Kisses, in 1999. However, she didn’t achieve wider fame until she began co-starring on the reality show “Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica” with her first husband, singer Nick Lachey (formerly of the boy-band 98 Degrees). Simpson’s blonde bombshell looks and her occasionally ditsy behavior, made her a ratings hit and a household name.
Simpson later appeared on the reality show Fashion Star and the documentary television series The Price of Beauty, was featured in comedic roles in several movies, and released additional pop and country solo albums. She married the football player Eric Johnson, with whom has has two children. She even launched a collection of clothing and accessories that grew into a billion-dollar fashion empire.
Simpson has also connected with her fans through her various namesake fragrances: she launched a line of scented bath and body products called Dessert Beauty in 2004, and her first perfume, Fancy, in 2008. Fancy and its various flankers, as well as the soft floral Vintage Bloom and the more sophisticated Jessica Simpson by Jessica Simpson, are all packaged in girly, decorative bottles that reflect Simpson’s personal taste.
