Eva Longoria (Designer)
Fragrance designer Eva Longoria was born in 1975 in Corpus Christi, Texas. A former winner of the Miss Corpus Christi beauty pageant, Longoria started in show business in 2000 with small parts on “General Hospital” and “Beverly Hills 90210.” In 2001, she got a steady role as Isabella on “The Young and Restless,” for which she received an American Latino Media Arts Award for Outstanding Actress in a Daytime Drama.
Longoria reached nationwide fame in 2004 as the mischievous Gabrielle Solis on the ABC hit television series “Desperate Housewives.” The attention she received for the role transformed her into one of the top-paid TV stars in the world, and Longoria proceeded to expand her career into the perfume and cosmetics business.
In 2010, she launched her own fragrance, Eva, created by the perfumers of the house of Takasako. The perfume is part of the Forbidden Fruits" collection, a series of four scents inspired by the main protagonists of “Desperate Housewives.” Longoria launched her second perfume, EVAmour, in 2012. Created by Annie Buzantian, Longoria says this perfume is bolder and deeper than the first one.
Longoria uses her notoriety for more than just fragrances. She is well-known for her charity work, in which she focuses on developmentally disabled children and raising awareness of cancer. She is also a political activist who co-chaired President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign in 2012. Of course, Longoria remains a prominent figure in showbiz as well, and is the international face of L'Oréal Paris and Bebe Sports.
