Feminite du Bois is so difficult to describe--this is a very woody, resinous fragrance that, true to the other half of its name, is also very feminine. It's the strangest, most wonderful scent. . . . Sensual, but not overtly sexy. . . . This pungent marvel softens in drydown to a musky, woody, rosy warmth. Lovely and unique, it's the earthy and robust mother of the spectacularly transparent fruit and woods Bois de Violette.

I agree it seemed to be lost for ever, but in the UK I recently tried Feminite de Bois under the Serge Lutens label and it smells the same to me.

Feminite Du Bois The actual classification of this perfume is woody oriental shiseido will verify. Orientals are not for everyone. this no longer sells in Australia and that saddens me. It has been my favourite perfume for many years and suits me to the ground. It's such an original fragrance that people recognise me before they turn around, as they consider it my signature smell. If you want to be original and noticed then I recommend this perfume or failing that some nice floral from france at 1000 dollars an ounce lol.

I wore Feminite du Bois back in the 80's. I had bought a slim pencil like container with refills of this elixir. It was very rich and exotic compared to the light citrus fragrances I used to wear. Then it was gone. I wore other perfumes in the meantime and had forgotten about it until I came across it here on fragrancenet! I can't believe I have the bottle next to me as I write this. It's warm and sensual and I wear it day or night. The honey, plum and violet scent with the cinnamon and cedar waft around me as I contemplate another order!!

I'm so so happy I found this scent again. It was to have been my "final smell". To me it outranked every other perfume. I'd only smelled in on one other person and she was from another city. I was heart broken when shesiedo stopped making. People would always comment on how they loved the smell and think it was very expensive. I searched in so many places, even Japan! I gave up and started wearing another scent which I adore (philosophy) until I thought to google it. I'm a happy camper now.
