Japanese designer Hanae Mori was born in Tokyo on January 8, 1926. She studied at Tokyo’s Christian University and began her illustrious fashion career as a costumer for films. In 1965, she successfully presented her first New York collection, dubbed "East Meets West". Twelve years later, she opened a haute couture showroom in Paris, leading to her appointment as a member of the elite La Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne.
Mori’s signature design inspiration is the butterfly. In addition to serving clients such as Princess Grace of Monaco and Crown Princess Masako of Japan (she designed her wedding gown), He has also made costumes for operas including "Madame Butterfly" and "Elektra", ballets including "Cinderella" and musicals such as the Japanese production of "Evita".
Today, Mori is not only one of Japan's most successful fashion designers, she is also one of the country’s most renowned female entrepreneurs. Her one-woman boutique, founded in 1951, has grown to become a $500 million worldwide fashion business.
His first perfume, Hanae Mori Butterfly for women, was launched in 1995. This fruity floral blend is housed in a bottle whose top is in the delicate shape of a butterfly with folded wings. Other fragrances are Hanae Mori Haute Couture for women, Hanae Mori Homme, HM and Hanae Mori Magical Moon for women. Within the industry, all are regarded as complex and carefully designed perfumes.
