We all have a special trick we use when applying makeup or caring for our hair. Some of us line our drawers with scented paper, still others rave about the benefits of homemade sugar scrubs. Share your tip with us today!

Not only does your skin dry out in cold weather, but your hair and scalp fall victim to dehydration as well. Try not to shampoo your hair more than once a day. To protect hair after showering a leave-in conditioner will work wonders to help make hair strands more pliable. Limit your use of hairdryers and curling irons and try shampooing your hair in lukewarm or cool water to lock in moisture.

To keep your combs & brushes clean, soak them in a small basin of warm water mixed with baking soda for five minutes. It helps to remove oily residue, dandruff & hair clumps stuck inside them. Dry with a clean cloth.

I like to comb and brush my hair out before washing it,that way, when I shampoo or condition it goes through smoothly without the tangles.

First of all I am a professional hairdresser; First Tip; If your hair is frizzy looking STOP rubbing it so hard with a towel, I have seen guys & gals rub their hair so hard, like they were polishing a car. This causes separation between the cuticle and the hair shaft, thus creating a frizzy look. Be gentle and just blot or squeeze hair with a towel, if your hair is longer, after blotting, wrap it in a towel for a little while, this will help it to dry faster when blow drying. Tip Two; NEVER use a hair brush on WET hair; When hair is wet it stretches, thus causing breakage because hair will stretch only so far. A comb is BEST and a Wide Tooth comb or large pick is BEST for longer hair, always starting at the bottom, so if you have shorter hairs at the middle or crown area this is what is causing it. Tip Three; Never use a rubber band to pull your hair up and NEVER EVER pull your hair up with a rubber band when hair is wet, you may however use something made o

In the winter hair loses most of its moisture. To cure this problem, the secret is olive oil. Put some in the palm of your hair and run your hands through your hair like making a ponytail. Repeat until hair is fully saturated. Leave it in for about thirty minutes, then rinse it off in the shower and follow your usual routine. Olive oil is also good for the skin and nails.

Sometimes hair becomes dry and brittle due to the changes in weather conditions,or even if you are ill. I suggest using a hot oil treatment once a month and cover hair with a shower cap. Olive oil will do as well. It helps to nourish the scalp and keep hair soft and manageable.

To keep your hair healthy avoid using shampoo more than twice a week, use conditioner more often by itself especially to the hair ends. Use olive oil to moisturize your hair once a week. Put a good amount in your palms, rub them together and apply it on your hair. Wrap it up with shower cap or stocking overnight then wash it the next morning as you desire.. Give it a try it's really helpful. You'll be surprised. Leng

When showering/shampooing/conditioning, it is best to either spritz some light leave in contitioner or detangler on hair after shampooing and before brushing or combing thru hair, then add a deeper conditioner to do it's work. You should never try combing out tough tangles in wet hair without some conditioner on it, as hair is much easier to break off when wet. I use a cheaper detangler (such as a childrens spray in), after rinsing shampoo out and before combing out tangles, then put my good conditioner into smooth tangle free hair. It gets better coverage from root to tip and you use less of it this way!
