Beauty Mistakes You're Most Likely Making...In the Shower
Are you a stickler for doing things right, especially when it comes to caring for yourself with whatever it may be during your daily beauty regimen? Same here, but, I must confess, as you will too, once you learn of 4 beauty mistakes you’re making…in the shower!
Shower NoNo #1: Washing your face 1st thing. It may be instinct, but washing your face first thing will only cause breakouts near your hairline. Wondering how? Well, if you wash your face first, before shampooing and conditioning, you will most likely not wash it again, after you have conditioned your hair. This may lead to breakouts on your hairline…and no one wants that. Work your way from head to toe when washing yourself in the shower.
Shower NoNo #2: Using the Wrong Cleanser Wash Everyone has a different skin type and not all soaps are ‘customized’ to suit all. If you have dry skin, steer clear of any foaming cleansers, while they may be ‘trendy & new’ these will only dry out your skin more! Use a creamy cleanser that is customized for your skin type.
Shower NoNo #3: Not Exfoliating While it’s ok to not exfoliate your face daily (we would advise not to do so) it’s important to exfoliate and get rid of the dry, dead skin cells your body produces daily. Sounds gross? IT IS! And that’s why you should use a loofah to gently scrub a dub that off your body and leave your skin super-silky soft.
Shower NoNo #4: Staying In Way TOO Long If you are showering for more than 15 minutes, you better stop diddly-daddlying in there! Sure, it’s relaxing, and yes, a long hot shower is tempting, but really, it’s causing a major problem for your skin…total dryness! Try to set your shower to 15 minutes or less and you will start to notice that your skin texture and quality will be improving over time!
